Better than most south Indian restaurants in the Seattle area. Rava idli was very good. No healthy food options. For the amount of butter they use, they should buy Tilamook Creamery. I would rename the restaurant MCR (Mavalli Carbs Room).

Went with a friend for the first time, after id been witnessing all the hype. We reached at 11 to avoid long waiting time. Got a place to sit in the first set of people who they let in. Their idli and Vada was good! I'm not sure if I liked their thick Bangalore style dosa - the one I ordered had lot of ghee. Very heavy for me. They didn't have filter coffee that day - a little disappointing. Had their chikoo shake and buttermilk- nice options. We took their gadbad ice cream to go. It's a fun mix of nuts, 3-4 different ice creams and some jellies and stuff. Great to share between 2-4 ppl. It was good overall. Maybe I'll go there again, but not anytime soon.

Rava idli is to die for here. Served with potato curry and spicy coconut chutney with little ghee (clarified butter). I'll come back again and again for this dish only. Rawa pudi onion dosa on the other hand is a miss. Laden with ghee, it has a nice crunch but somehow the ghee overpowers the taste. It's served with sambar and coconut chutney. It's a fairly busy restaurant. Be prepared to wait for a long time before getting a seat. Once seated, the service is prompt and food comes out fast.

This was my first time going here. Their menu is all vegetarian. I got chaat and vada sambar, both were delicious and authentically South Indian. There was a line to get inside, probably took us about 15 minutes to get in on a weekend evening but I highly recommend. I would be back again to try out more dishes. The staff is very nice and friendly as well.

Food: 5/5 Service:5/5 Value for Money:4.85/5 If you want to try some authentic South Indian food; just visit this place without any second thoughts. The wait is worth the authentic tasty food. MTR Restaurant, offers a delectable journey through authentic Bangalorean cuisine. Our recent visit was a culinary revelation, with each dish meticulously crafted to perfection. We started with the iconic Masala Dosa, an epitome of flavor and texture. Cooked in rich ghee, every bite boasted a delightful crunch, leaving us craving for more. Next on our palate was the Onion Rava Dosa and Rava Dosa, both executed flawlessly. The crispiness of the dosas harmonized with the savory fillings, offering a symphony of taste that captured the essence of Bangalore's street food scene. A highlight of our dining experience was the Mangalore Buns, a first-time indulgence for me. The delicate sweetness of the buns, paired with the velvety coconut curry, evoked a sense of nostalgia and authenticity that was truly unparalleled. Completing our feast was the Sambar Vada, where the star of the show was undoubtedly the impeccably prepared sambar. Each spoonful offered a burst of flavors, perfectly complementing the fluffy vadas. While the prices may exceed the norm, the quality of the fare at MTR Restaurant is undeniably worth it. For Bangaloreans and enthusiasts of South Indian cuisine, this establishment is a culinary haven that promises an unforgettable dining experience. This place is not much a fancy high end but it's home to authentic food. In summary, MTR Restaurant offers a tantalizing journey through Bangalore's culinary heritage. From the crispy dosas to the heavenly Mangalore Buns, each dish is a testament to the restaurant's commitment to excellence. Don't miss the opportunity to savor the authentic flavors of Bangalore at MTR Restaurant .

I was wary of mtr with the mixed review, but my mother was in town, and had recently visited Bangalore where she ate at MTR (and had been to growing up) so she was excited to try their first US location and wanted to compare so of course I indulged! We went on a Tuesday at 6 pm. Restaurant was busy but not full and we did not have to wait for a seat. We ordered dahi puri and two types of dosa. Both came very quickly! The dahi puri was quite good, though very mild. The dosa were fresh and tasty. Maybe both were not what you'd get in India but pretty good for American standards! Prices were in my opinion good for this area, especially as most South Indian food in the Seattle area is questionable at best. Worth it in my opinion, especially at non peak times!
